The Society of Husbands Replaced By Dogs (SHRD, pronounced "SHaReD") was founded in December of 2001, as Kevin Gilhooly pondered the possibility of being run out of his house by dogs. Hence the motto of the organization: "Who's been sleeping in my bed?"
A dog is a cunning, dangerous creature who knows when to make his move to oust an unsuspecting husband from his bed. It starts simply enough, with his wife mentioning "how cute" the dog looks lying on the bed, or curled up on the husband's pillow, or sitting next to him on the couch. Eventually, the dog will crawl up next to the husband, and "cuddle." Cuddling is the first step towards pushing him off the bed completely!
The next thing the husband knows, the dog's using his Mac, watching TV and having his friends over for drinks! Beware!
I have documented my stories, so hopefully other husbands can see the warning signs before it's too late for them. It's too late for me - save yourselves! |
